BARRY QUINN

I work in the chemical industry as a Plant Controller / Team Leader. In my spare time I like to keep fit by taking a fitness class and promoting a healthy active lifestyle.

EMMA FENTON

(CO-OPTED)

I have been a co-opted Governor at the Ditton Nursery since February 2014. I am currently the Chair of the Standards Committee and the Early Years Pupil Premium Governor.

I work at Ditton Primary School where I am the Deputy Headteacher. Ditton Primary is the nearest school to Ditton Nursery and I am always working to build further the links between the 2 settings including sharing best practice and ideas.

I have spent the majority of my teaching career working with Early Years and Key stage 1 children and have firm belief that all children deserve the best start to life possible with quality nursery education central to this.

As a busy Mum of 3 there is little time for hobbies but as a family we enjoy camping trips and spending time with our extended family.

CHRISTINA HADLEY

(CO-OPTED)

I have worked at Ditton Early Years Centre since April 2004 as the Daycare Manager and have worked closely with Ditton Nursery School to ensure we provide the highest quality of education and care for all children. I have been a Governor since 2004 and I currently sit on Finance, Personnel and Premises Committee.

I have two girls that have both attended the Daycare and Nursery School. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family going on days out, swimming and baking.

SHARRON BLACK

(CO-OPTED)

I have been a parent governor on the governing body since November 2013. I am a Mum of 5 children whose ages range from 22 years down to 5 years old. I have volunteered in the early years sector for about 10 years in varying roles, such as parent/toddler group leader, craft session leader and one-to-one special needs mentor.

In my last role I was an Operating Department Assistant in a busy city hospital. In my spare time I enjoy sugar-craft and spending time with my family.

LAURA FALLON

(STAFF)

I have worked at Ditton Nursery School since June 2004 and have been a Staff Governor since November 2013 and sit on the Standards Committee.

I am employed as a Teaching Assistant within the nursery school with my own key group of 3 + 4 year olds whom I am responsible for their assessment and data. Before working for the school I have worked in several nurseries since qualifying as a nursery nurse in 1989.

In my spare time I enjoy being with my partner and my two girls.

JILL FARRELL

(ADDITIONAL GOVERNOR)

I currently work for Halton Local Authority in the School Improvement Service, working closely with Schools, Early Years Settings and Children’s Centres. My background is in teaching, having spent over 20 years teaching within the primary and early years sector and have been privileged to work in a range of schools and settings across Salford, Trafford, Warrington and Halton. I am passionate about providing the highest quality education for all children, within a happy, caring, stimulating school which is very much part of the wider community life.

MICHELLE GLOVER

(PARENT)

My name is Michelle Glover and I  am currently a Parent Governor at Ditton Nursery School. My son was a pupil at the nursery for 18 months and loved coming here everyday to see his friends and the lovely, warm and welcoming staff that work here doing a fabulous job.

I work at Ditton Primary School as a fulltime Teaching Assistant and love my job. Working with children is something I love to do and seeing them progress into confident early learners is something I am passionate about.

In my free time I love to spend quality time with my son, husband and step-daughter. I also love to read and write, as well as going on long walks in the countryside.

AMANDA BROWN

(EXECUTIVE HEADTEACHER)

I have worked in education for over 25 years, teaching across EYFS and KS1. I have been a Children’s Centre Teacher and also an Early Years Consultant Teacher for the authority. I have been Headteacher at Warrington Road Nursery School since 2011.I believe that all children deserve the very best start and am committed to working with staff to deliver this.

I have 3 children who have now left school, and I am actively involved in my local Scout group.

SUZANNE McMULLIN

(PARENT)

I applied to be a parent Governor because I am very happy wih the education that our children receive and want to support the nursery as much as possible. Just like every other parent I want the very best for my children. I want them to be happy, contident and become the very best they can be. I am not afraid to ask difficult questions and I am used to speaking out and up for what is most important. Frankly there is nothing more important than our children.

I have no previous experience as a governor nor have I worked within the education system, which is why I feel that I can cast an independent eye over the workings of the  nursery school and bring a fresh perspective to the work of the existing governors. I myself attended Ditton Nursery so I feel a connection to the Nursery and the community.
